The Suncoast Tiger Bay Club will hold a virtual chat, The face of hunger: food insecurity in our community, from noon to 1 p.m. this Monday March 29.
Participants will be nutritionist and food policy activist Wendy Wesley, Mandy Cloninger, Impact Manager for Feeding Tampa Bay, and Julie Rocco, Senior Community Engagement Advocate – Research and Evaluation, Foundation for a Healthy St. Pete.
The discussion will be moderated by Hillary Van Dyke, Professional Development Specialist, Equity for Pinellas County Schools. Topics will include food deserts, the impact of Covid-19 on low-income neighborhoods and newly food insecure people, and the fact that children are not receiving the nutritious food service they are accustomed to. ‘school.
The presentation will be broadcast via Zoom Webinar, with the option to submit questions live for a question-and-answer session with the panelists.
