NEW DELHI: The Delhi government’s Women’s and Children’s Development Department will launch a Supplemental Nutritional Food (SNF) home delivery service to women and children at more than 10,000 Anganwadi centers. The program will benefit five lakh beneficiaries. Delhi Minister of Women and Child Development Rajendra Pal Gautam on Wednesday held a review meeting in this regard with senior officers.
“The distribution will take place every fortnight on fixed days of the week and the existing system for granting 13-day-per-fortnight THR (Take Home Ration) will continue,” he said. As part of the SNF packaging, plain Dalia wheat (1,300 g), raw black chana (260 g), jaggery (130 g) and roasted black gram (130 g) for children and plain Dalia wheat (1,690 g) , raw black chana (260 g), jaggery (130 g) and roasted black gram (130 g) are given to pregnant and lactating women respectively.
âAll Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) are responsible for ensuring that NFCs in the appropriate packages are received in advance at Anganwadi centers according to the set schedule. All district officers and
CDPOs must submit the required certificate regarding stock verification of a required number of centers one day before distribution according to the set schedule, âsaid the Minister.
The minister also asked the officers to ensure a judicious distribution of the government ration, arrangements for the registration of the stocks of Anganwadis, the acknowledgment of receipt of the SNF in the register of NPO and the verification of the stocks.
